Yes welcome to the world of homebrew! However this wonderful world is not easy to get to, it is blocked off by Sony so not everyone may enter. This thread is a about getting started: Entering the magical kingdom, can I? How?
Step one:
Pick your firmware:
1.50
You may put on homebrew, you may have to use Devhook. You might wish to consider CFW.
1.51-2.71
If not at 2.71, upgrade to 2.71. Once at 2.71, use HENC!
1.51-3.03
You need an unpatched (original) copy of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. To tell if it is patched, put the UMD in the drive, below the game it will say update x.xx. If it says Update 2.00 then it is good and unpatched. If it says higher than 2.00, ex. 2.60, the it is patched. 2.60 can be downgraded, but that does not mean a 2.60 GTA LCS will work, there is a difference, the GTA Hack was originally found during the times of 2.60 so they started making patched ones at that time. The hack was rediscovered in 3.03 (they simply moved the hack savegame file to slot 11 [I think, it was one if the higher ones]).
If you have LCS
If you don't have 3.03, upgrade to it. Once at 3.03 use the GTA Hack.
If you don't
Do not upgrade. Try to get it. It would suck it let's say you have 2.81 and upgraded to 3.03 and then a downgrader for 2.81 came out that didn't need LCS, then you're screwed. However, it does not seem that will happen, it's hard to find hacks now, thanks to Pandora's Battery the devs have stopped looking. You may use a Pandora's battery!
1.51-3.50
You need an unpatched (original) copy of Lumines. The patched version of Lumines was only made in Japan.
If you have Lumines
If you don't have 3.50, upgrade to it. Once at 3.50 use the Lumines Hack.
If you don't
Do not upgrade. Try to get it. It would suck it let's say you have 3.10 and upgraded to 3.50 and then a downgrader for 3.10 came out that didn't need LCS, then you're screwed. However, it does not seem that will happen, it's hard to find hacks now, thanks to Pandora's Battery the devs have stopped looking. You may use a Pandora's battery!
PSP Slim, Higher than 3.50, 3.03-3.50 Users who don't have GTA LCS or Lumines
PANDORA'S BATTERY IS THE ONLY WAY! for now, however a new exploit seems hopeful...
How to do it
After you use a downgrader and are now at 1.50, go here to get 3.90 M33
If you need to use Pandora, then make your magic memory stick my following the directions here. You can make an alternate Magic MMS here. To make the battery go here as well, and see the section called "Change the serial"
What to do after you get homebrew:
You can try some emulators or other programs (search the forums for other homebrew). You can also backup your games to be played off the memory stick.

3.30 dus exist .. check the psp website... an hopefully some one will decrypt it an hack it or get a downgrader for 3.11

Doest concern me unless a game tries to force and update to 3.30, then I am gonna have to find a way around that...

3.30 dectypted? When did that happen, and when did it come out, it seems to me that decrypting doesnt take much time, and short after that and OE is made, but what usually takes a while is the downgrader...
I had 3.03 OE while my brother was still at 2.81 waiting for homebrew...

It says the same program for 3.10 was used...
So if u use that app I guess you can dump it to ur MS, where it can be run via Devhook, and later on CFW and a downgrader can be made..

Software that isn't made by Sony is homebrew, which is the whole point of the firmware thing...

LYÈR , how you know this(3.30 OE) also you would have to downgrade to 1.50 1st .. with no downgrader this would be useless
